Blacks on Wall Street, Inc. Honored at Brooklyn South High School Annual Leadership Awards for Dedication to Community Services.

Manhattan, NY – May 3, 2024 – In a moving black tie ceremony held at the UFT Teacher Center in NYC, Blacks on Wall Street, Inc. received a prestigious honor at the Annual Leadership Awards, recognizing their unwavering dedication to community service and youth empowerment. This award celebrates the organization's impactful initiatives and consistent support for educational and leadership development among students in the district. Blacks on Wall Street, Inc. has long been a beacon of inspiration and support, fostering economic empowerment, financial literacy, and professional growth within the Black community. Their programs, aimed at bridging the gap between academic success and real-world financial acumen, have profoundly influenced students and communities across Brooklyn.

Various student leadership groups gathered to pay tribute to Blacks on Wall Street, Inc. These included the Student Government Association (SGA), Superintendent’s Youth Leadership Council (SYLC), My Brother’s Keeper (MBK), My Sister’s Keeper (MSK), Leaders from LGBTQIA+, Honor Society, and student leaders from the HE3AT Program. Each group shared heartfelt testimonials on how the organization’s mentorship, workshops, and resources have equipped them with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in their academic and future professional endeavors.

During the event, the Superintendent’s Youth Leadership Council highlighted the significant impact Blacks on Wall Street, Inc. has had on their growth. “Through their mentorship and financial literacy programs, we have learned invaluable skills that extend beyond the classroom. Their commitment to our success is unwavering,” a SYLC representative remarked.

The HE3AT Program, known for its focus on harnessing energy, enthusiasm, and excellence, also expressed deep gratitude. “Blacks on Wall Street, Inc. has been instrumental in providing us with the tools to excel not just academically but in life. Their dedication to our community’s success is truly commendable,” said a HE3AT student leader.


Accepting the award, BOWS executives Les DeLille and Dennis Creary, Inc. expressed heartfelt thanks and reiterated the organization's commitment to the community. “This recognition by the students and the Brooklyn South High School district is deeply humbling. Our mission has always been to empower and uplift our community through education and economic opportunities. Seeing the tangible impact on these young leaders’ lives reaffirms our purpose and drives us to continue our efforts.” The Brooklyn South High School Annual Leadership Awards event is a cornerstone of the academic year, celebrating the achievements and contributions of students, staff, and community partners.
